Program “stínování” pracovníků OSN ve Vídni pro rok 2020 je otevřen i pro studenty z Česka!
Chcete získat nevšední vhled do fungování Organizace spojených národů ve Vídni? Tradiční program “stínování” pracovníků OSN se letos koná v termínu 24. října až 24. listopadu a studentům nabízí příležitost hodinového on-line setkání s vysoce postaveným pracovníkem OSN, virtuální prohlídku sídla světové organizace ve Vídni (Vienna International Centre, VIC) a virtuální kariérní workshop pro zájemce o práci v OSN.
Vzhledem ke koronavirové pandemii se letošní program “stínování” koná on-line, a to nám umožňuje rozšířit řady možných účastníků i mimo Rakousko. Poprvé jsou do programu přizváni i studenti z Česka!
Podmínky účasti: jste student/ka magisterského nebo doktorského studia na některé z univerzit v Česku, máte výbornou znalost angličtiny, zajímáte se o OSN.
Termín podání žádosti: do 25. srpna 2020 emailem na [email protected]. Prosíme přečtěte si detailně veškeré informace ohledně projektu a způsobu přihlášení níže v angličtině.
Posouzení nejvhodnějších kandidátů/ek proběhne v UNIC v Praze a tři nejúspěšnější uchazeči/ky budou předáni k další komunikaci kolegům v UNIS ve Vídni.
Shadowing Programme 2020
Want to gain exciting insights into the world of the United Nations in Vienna? A virtual edition of the Shadowing Programme will take place from 24 October to 24 November 2020. It will offer students the opportunity to have a one-hour virtual encounter with a UN staff member and join a virtual guided tour through the Vienna International Centre (VIC) and a virtual career workshop.

How to participate
If you are a student who is enrolled in a Masters or a PhD programme at a university in Czechia you are invited to apply by sending an email to the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Prague with the following information:
- Name
- Nationality
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Field of study
- University
- Field of interest
- Name of the organizations you would like to “shadow” (first and second preference)
- If selected, what would you expect to get out of the Shadowing Programme? (max. 50 words)
PLEASE NOTE: The number of applications that can be accepted is limited, so you are encouraged to apply as early as possible. The deadline is 25 August 2020. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Furthermore, subject to availability you might be placed with a different organization than indicated.
The Shadowing Programme is not part of a recruiting process. It is an opportunity for students to gain insights into the work of a UN staff member.
How to know if you are selected to participate
The selection of students who can participate in the Shadowing Programme will be made after all registrations have been collected. The successful candidates will be contacted by email from UNIS Vienna.
The Shadowing Programme takes place to help mark United Nations Day (24 October) and the UN’s 75th anniversary in 2020. It is coordinated by UNIS Vienna and UNIC Prague and organized in cooperation with all participating Vienna-based organizations.
